German tabletop games publisher, Pegasus Spiele Verlags – und Medienvertriebsgellschaft mbH (Pegasus Games Publishing and Media), was founded in 1993 by current CEOs Karsten Esser and Andreas Finkernagel. The company began as a small corner game store in the two young entrepreneurs’ Hessian hometown of Friedberg.
Since its inception, Pegasus Spiele has been on a fast track of growth and expansion. Originating as one of the first distributors of Richard Garfield’s Magic: The Gathering CCG in Germany, Pegasus quickly grew to mythical proportions, becoming both a distributor and publisher of high-quality and award-winning games.
Pegasus Spiele’s published games have received several prestigious awards and nominations, including winning both the Spiel des Jahres (Camel Up) and Kennerspiel des Jahres (Istanbul) awards in 2014 and Spiel des Jahres (Kingdomino) in 2017. Acclaimed children’s game Fabulantica (2019 Kinderspiel des Jahres Nominee) is also present in our catalog.
Widely known and recognized throughout German-speaking Europe, Pegasus Spiele is famous for reviving classic titles like Junta, and creating export hits such as Mondo (published in 15 languages), as well as for releasing the German edition of the cult card game Munchkin.
In 2018, Pegasus Spiele entered into a licensing agreement with Games Workshop for the enduring fantasy world of Talisman, gaining global distribution rights for both German and English languages. Since acquiring the license, Pegasus Spiele has introduced the family game Talisman - Legendary Tales and is working on an upcoming release of a new Talisman role-playing game.
Today, Pegasus Spiele continues to grow, spreading our wings by continuously bringing innovative games to market and by expanding our presence into new territories across the globe.
